As you know, we recently confirmed Caroline's egg allergy through an oral food challenge conducted in our allergist's office.  He gave us the green light to do at-home challenges for peanut and tree nut based on Caroline's history.  Let me be clear, doing at home challenges should ONLY be done with the approval of a specialist - they can be very dangerous and should only be attempted if there is a high likelihood of success as determined by a medical specialist.  That disclaimer being beaten to death, here's the scoop on the peanut challenge we did at home.

We have this great little doughnut shop right down the street from us. I stopped in a couple weeks ago to fulfill a pregnancy craving involving chocolate and custard and they had this whole tray of bunny shaped doughnuts with pink icing. I stared at those bunnies and my heart yearned to be able to buy one for Caroline. Oh, how she would love to have one! She's never had a doughnut, of course, and I've asked several times in the shop if they have anything that is egg free (the answer is always no). Boy, oh, boy have I been busy lately!  I have been severely slacking in the blogging because I've just not been very good at time management and juggling all the moving pieces of my life.  I feel like I have so much to tell you all and to catch up with you on.  I'll start today with the biggest news of all, and I'll let my favorite pal, Mickey Mouse, share it with you:

I have a very exciting announcement to make!  This announcement ties directly into the reason why my blog posts have been scarce lately - and I do apologize for that.  So, without further fanfare and with a great amount of pride and personal satisfaction I present My Magic Journeys my new travel agency focusing on helping people plan their perfect Disney vacations.  I am thrilled to bring my experience in travelling to Disney with a food allergic child to allow me to help other families dealing with food allergies and other special needs have safe, magical vacations.  This new venture is bringing together two of my greatest passions: all things Disney and helping families with food allergic kids!  So, take a look at my new website and let me know if I can help you and your family visit the happiest place on earth!  And, ahem, feel free to tell your friends.  :)
